Thread: Lunsford extended through 2024

    Default Lunsford extended through 2024

Lot to like about CCL, happy to have him. Looks like Benko agrees and moved quickly on this. Hope there are some good buyouts in here so if he continues to have success we can be well compensated when he is poached.

CCL wins in his first 2 seasons: 17
Fritz wins in his first 2 seasons: 18 (17 if you don't count the bowl games, which I do)

And that's with an offensive roster not nearly as good as Fritz had, and much tougher schedule overall across the two years.

Sadly, I feel like that is the same way Benko viewed it. I wish he worked with him for a season first, but good for CL.

Hopefully, the extension is GS-favorable. The current financial situation possibly made that possible. We’ll see.
    Thanks, Rastabot!

Isn't now back at the 4 year "standard" coaching contract for recruits? Yes Chad will be here all 4 years.

isn't it just the formalization of what he was due per contract anyway? 4 year contract, with a one year auto extension after 7 wins.

    I like CL a lot. I always have .

But we gotta see some results on offense this season. We know what it is supposed to look like-so make it happen

I also want to see recruiting take a few steps forward. We sure make a lot of excuses season after season. This is the “show me” year.

I also am concerned about in-game decisions. No on-side kicks in “surprising situations”. That was a really dumb decision which almost cost us that game.

Again, I am not sure how much input CL takes in some of these calls, but we have seen far, far too many 3 and outs with just inches to convert. If you have the momentum and good field position, , use it. No sense giving it away time after time. The big one I am thinking about was the Cure bowl. That took every puff of wind out of our sails and killed yet another good drive.

GS football is made of aggressive, brave decisions. We need to get back to that.

Really good HCs see their faults and fix them. They don’t pout and get all butthurt, they fix things.

Not sure what seasoning you think CTS used, arsenic maybe?
