If not, I doubt the AAC would short a bowl on ESPN vs one on CBSSN.
Not saying it would happen, but it's a possibility.

Whichever one they short, Liberty would get the vacant one due to being the odd man out in bowl eligible teams. All eligible teams have to be placed before moving on to 5-7 teams.

But there is 1 more team than bowl spots. In that case, Liberty is most likely the odd man out

Cure would be the only shot in then, since they have a contract to select Liberty if the AAC/SBC don't fill the bowl.

If no AAC team goes to Orlando, I don't think Cure has a choice but to take Liberty (and the only other options might be 6-6 MAC teams that didn't get into one of their conference's bowls).

I'm thinking the Sun Belt's Cure opponent will be either Liberty, Temple, or Tulane. Of those 3 I'd take Liberty, easy choice.

Honestly, give me Montgomery again, please.

While it would be disappointing to play Sunday School DeVry instead of an AAC team, in the long run, nobody is going to remember who we played, just that we won. Like it’s been said, win, hang the banner, and ride the momentum into recruiting season and spring workouts.

This. But there is a double edged sword to that, if we lose it's incredibly embarrassing.

Sorry for maybe beating a dead horse, but why do we think there's that big of a chance of the AAC not being able to fill the Cure Bowl spot? They have 7 bowl eligible teams.

Access Bowl. If the CFP chooses one of Cincy or Memphis for the Cotton Bowl, it would leave 6 AAC teams for 7 slots.

Now see all of the last 3 posts were funny! ;-)

They should probably get someone to re-write the rules for them . . . again.
