Glad that Kennedy is back so he can get 5 carries and he can slam full speed into the back of our offensive line.

So we only perform versus bad teams?

At this point, yes. See, here's what happens when you don't execute blocks and tackling.... teams that are better than you beat you. And really good teams REALLY beat you. Until we remember how to block and tackle, we are in for a long ride. As I said in the post you quoted, the game against USA will tell us a lot about where we are.

This is what I don’t understand about how our tackling abilities have regressed. CL was here for the rugby tackling exercises brought in by Fritz. 2014/15 was the best tackling I’ve seen by a GS team. It looks like we abandoned that method. Why?

Just a guess but he may be leaving it up to Sloan. As a relatively new head coach, Lunsford is probably focusing more on things that head coaches should do first and foremost and leaving a lot of things like this to his coordinators and position coaches. As Lunsford gets more tenure, I'd imagine he'll start to focus in on other aspects outside of strictly the head coach's duties.

Though no one wants is thrilled with our start or wants to be 1 -3, the three teams we've lost to aren't exactly awful. They've lost one game between them. Our starting QB has played less than a game and a half. Most dangerous offensive threat has been suspended. Let's take a breath and see if the sky actually falls.

No matter what everyone's stance on what is wrong with our performance currently, you have to agree that the schedule is much more challenging so far when compared:

    - LSU (2019) and Clemson (2018) are both top 5 programs so no real difference there
    - Maine instead of South Carolina State is a big difference
    - Minnesota instead of UMass is a huge difference- we only played one P5 last year
    - We rotate in ULL instead of Texas State- no doubt we would have been more competitive against the Bobcats than ULL despite our performance against Texas State last year

So instead of playing Clemson, South Carolina State, UMass and Texas State (where we went 3-1) we are now playing LSU, Maine, Minnesota and ULL (1-3). Add to that playing App State, Troy and Ark State on the road this year while no longer having the benefit to beat up on Idaho in conference and this is arguably our most difficult schedule that we have ever put together. Next year we go back to only playing one P5 in what should be a winnable game at Ole Miss and getting a G5 OOC at home for the third straight year.

I agree except for the part about Ole Miss automatically categorized as "winnable". If we're talking 20% or less chance ok. People have unreasonable expectations and fail to realize how much coaching turnover has hurt recruiting and other continuity factors. Holding this staff together for at least 4 years will produce results. There's only one coaching change I'd make.

I’ve been seeing lots of “would have been” and “if not for” from a lot of folks including you now. Well guess what- those plays happened and were part of the game. So you’re not going to bring up the plays from fringe wins from 2018? The reverse to beat Ark State, the 2 point conversion failure by Texas State, the fourth and ten conversion by Shai in the bowl game? We could have been a 7-6 team last year if we’re going to play the “if” game.
