Thread: The next UCF . . .

  1. Default The next UCF . . .

Could be us. Look at the next 2 years. We can do it. I know we have a hard road schedule this year but 2020 lines up for our first real shot at the access bowl/new year's 6 bowl unless we pull off the upset at LSU. Exciting times ahead for Eagle Nation!

If Western Michigan can do it so can we...I don't even think you really have to have the next Urban Meyer or Nick Saban to do it.

When enough of Scott Frost's players at UCF are gone the AAC regression to the mean will be complete.

Why don’t we play UCF? We’re 10-1 against them!

    9/11/1982 inaugural game - 16-9; 1-0
    9/10/1983 lost 29-33;1-1
    9/15/1984 won 42-28; 2-1
    11/09/1985 won 35-18; 3-1
    11/08/1986 won 33-23; 4-1
    10/03/1987 won 34-32; 5-1
    10/29/1988 won 31-17; 6-1
    10/21/1989 won 31-17; 7-1
    10/20/1990 won 38-17; 8-1
12/8/1990 1AA semifinal 44-7; 9-1 (I loved this game - remember all the UCF fans seeking revenge....)
    10/26/1991 won 20-6; 10-1

We’re also 2-0 against South Florida.

I don't know why we haven't gone after UCF either. I know they may have been hesitant while we were in 1aa after beating them 10 of 11 times & how close many of our games against FBS powers were for the first 3 quarters & the Florida game. They didn't want a possible loss to a 1aa team when they went FBS. Now however, They should be licking their chops for revenge. A home and home would be nice. That goes for USF also.

Why would they be licking their chops for revenge against us.

By the time we hit this football season it will be 28 years since we've played. Hell, players on the team weren't even born last time we played, by a wide margin.

They're more interested in games like the one they played today than us.

That said, yea I think it would be a good idea to schedule them as well as USF. But let's not have any crazy notions about something that happened almost 3 decades ago.

Because UCF didn't move to I-AA until 1990. All those early games they were D-2. We're 3-0 against them at the same level and the last game was 28 years ago. They don't know we exist.

Why would you schedule a team you're 1-10 against?
