    Re: More Transfer Portal fun.....

There's nothing novel in this, except it used to be Jucos instead of D1 players. It's a dangerous way to build a program, and very few pulled it off. I don't expect that to change.
  2. Re: GSU football attendance over 5 years from 2013-2017

For scheduling purposes, they absolutely do.

Because the P5 conferences consider BYU as a P5.

AK Keyes was a DB that transferred in from Oregon. Played in 2002 or so.

Re: Owens hired as Wide Recievers Coach

Owens is a pretty good recruiter. His main area is Jacksonville, so he should fit in pretty well.

If we could snap up Buzz Preston for WR coach, we'd be in good shape.

Re: CJM Army and the Flexbone

It has that reputation, and I find it useful to look at. But I also think it focuses too much on the trees rather than the forest. To me, the end game for an offense is to score points. That's why I...

Re: CJM Army and the Flexbone

No, they wouldn't. They were a pretty efficient offense this year. Not very explosive, but they moved the ball well and held on to the ball.

Re: CJM Army and the Flexbone

They definitely have a weak schedule, but I'm not sure why you're harping on it when Georgia Southern's schedule is much weaker. There are several SOS formulas out there, but to pick just two, Army...

Re: CJM Army and the Flexbone

Using advanced stats, their defense was actually quite mediocre-to-poor. They were No. 59 in FBS in defensive points per drive and even worse in the more situational defensive advanced stats. The...

Re: CJM Army and the Flexbone

It's funny that y'all are arguing over Army and Georgia Southern, when both offenses basically had the same goal and succeeded about the same. Both teams wanted to slow the pace of play, be safe with...

    Re: Ruse out at Tulane

He's already moved to a more passing oriented offense. Tulane has thrown as many passes this season as GSU did in all of 2014 and 2015 COMBINED.

In fact, the type of offense a lot of y'all...

    Re: 2018 Football Roster Updated

Yes, Tavon Austin did and he's probably the model you'd want for Kennedy and even he didn't get as many touches as you're talking about.

I think you need to look at how many punt returns guys get...

    Re: 2018 Football Roster Updated

No one disagreed that Kennedy needed to touch the ball. The only push back was to your assertion that if he didn't get a record number of touches for a slot, then his talents were completely wasted....

Yes, 2-10. With Fritz's recruits. The man has never won with his own offensive guys. Had to rely on Monken's guys here and inherited Flanders, Sincere & Co. at Sam Houston. The cupboard was empty at...

  22. Re: Sun Belt Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2018

You fail to note that the good players Fritz left Summers for 2016 were Monken recruits! Other than Wesley Fields, what good offensive players did Fritz recruit to Georgia Southern? I've asked this...
  23. Re: Sun Belt Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2018

I don't think anyone has argued that there is little talent on the roster. I think everyone agrees we didn't have 2 win talent last year. What a lot of people don't agree with is that we have 10 win...

Re: 2018 Sun Belt Media Day Thread

It doesn't mean anything. I remember when everyone got hyped off Ramsby's media day quote last year about how sophisticated Cook's option game was. Obviously, it wasn't. I think Fields is just trying...
