  1. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

Nothing about this was hasty or built on hope.

Extremely important was boosting assistants. From a holistic standpoint, the staff is what made this team what they are, not just Lunsford. We don't...
  2. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

    Cook's contract ran out too.
  3. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

What corner? The coaching industry is not like jobs for the rest of us, so the same rules don't really apply.

It was an extension for one year. We didn't break the bank by doing that.

    And until...

Re: Graduation Ceremonies Moving to Savannah

Your brain does not fully develop until ~25.

Specifically the parts of the brain that connect actions and consequences are just not all the way there.

We are able to identify something as...

    Re: Unveiling

We didn't do a signing day event for the Dec signing day, so this'll be to break down all those recruits plus any that sign in Feb.

Wouldn't expect anything other than that really.

  7. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

Are you going to write War and Peace posts about the hiring process again or can we stick to Cliff's Notes this time?
  8. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

Fritz was made after a thorough search to narrow it down to 4 candidates who came to interview in front of a panel of people. We didn't realize how good of a coach he was when he came in. He might...

You realize you're talking about 20 years at this point.

Re: Graduation Ceremonies Moving to Savannah

Might have been better to wait for next year to implement this, as a lot of people had already made plans based on how graduation was normally conducted. Hotels and all have to be done a LONG time...

But not everyone will have their name called in Paulson.

And that's what's rubbing people the wrong way.

Twitter is lighting up right now.

Re: Departing Benson throws down the gauntlet

For what he's done at stAte, he'd be a strong guy to lead the conference.

    Re: GS Presidential Search Update

That's impressive, especially considering that the cumulative amount between Georgia Southern and Armstrong prior to the merger was ~$750 million.

Even more reason to be redesignated by the BoR to...
  14. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

These coaching contracts survived, and grew, during one of the worst economic periods we've had since the Great Depression.

Yes attendance is down, but that's not where the money is made. In a lot...
  15. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

Yet coaches are signing contracts for that amount every year. He wins a lot of games, it'll happen. Folks want to buy a winner.

This market has been building for over 20 years, it ain't correcting...

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

There's no anti-Giff sentiment, at least not that I've seen.

There's anti-circlejerk sentiment, which is what's really happening when someone throws his name out every time there's a coaching...
  18. Re: So did we rework Lunsford and the assistants contracts?

Whenever someone comes along with deep enough pockets, Lunsford will be gone. We may be insulated from someone like Tulane in the future, but not from a P5 that wants a winner.

    As for Erk, you're...

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

    No fun police spotted.

It's a joke. It's based on the fact those names are mentioned every time we have an opening. It is not meant to slight anyone in any way and shouldn't be taken as such.

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

Wouldn't be surprised to see Horton go to Troy with Lindsey if he's off the field now, unless he's ready for things to slow down a bit.

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

Troy was laughing until we beat them at the end of the season in 2016.

They were ranked that year and had a loss to a team with a losing record at the end of the year.....so it looked pretty bad...

Re: Troy to Hire Chip Lindsey

Boise wasn't in the MW until 2011. BYU went independent in 2011. Utah left the MWC in 2011.

Boise was in the WAC for all years previous.
