  1. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

Dang. One thing is for certain...performance that bad, from a program that lauds itself as a RB factory is simply not as easy as "the players didn't execute".

There seems to be an absence of...
  2. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

Genuine question. Was there a significant change in schedule strength in those 4 years?

I'm not a fan of snapshot stats...though people eat them up, they ultimately tell you nothing without...
  3. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

I hope you are correct. I am not so rosy.

Good news for CBD, it won't be hard to improve over our current performance.
  4. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

If the problem were one or two consistently missed blocks, that might be valid. Our blocking scheme is tore up from the floor up. Passes look like a jailbreak, and runs up the middle look like a...

  7. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

It is STILL on the coach. He recruited the kid...hence, he is poor at recruiting. Getting paid to coach football comes with accountability.

If your ENTIRE line can't block, then the odds are...
  8. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

So, the immediate question becomes, "Why can many of our conference opponents field good O lines and we can't?"

The answer is: either our staff cannot coach properly or they cannot recruit...
  9. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

Correct me if I'm wrong but...isn't it his job to teach them how to avoid paranormal blocking?

I mean, if all one has to do to retain an FBS position coaching job is yell out the obvious, I'll...
  10. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

It is true for me...because he is the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR. It is his job to staff, recruit, coach, motivate, and produce results with the offense. If he cannot do that, someone should be hired that...
  11. Re: We don't have to like the results to understand them

Leadership. Getting paid over a quarter million dollars a year is the gravy that comes with being an OC. (Yes, I know...everyone else gets more than that.)

    My point is...poor onfield performance...

    Re: Thoughts.

Frankly...I'm more concerned with the hole we're digging ourselves into due to the lack of offensive production.

Recruits see QBs and RBs running for their life and smashed into waiting...
  13. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

For those screaming out for the flex...no QB who has an option is going to risk their career with an offense designed to get hit 30 times a game. Ain't gonna happen.

    Thoughts.

There's a few people who, as per usual, are calling for Lunsford. (To be fair, it's mostly people who have been moaning about their favorite expert choice since he was made permanent.)

    That said,...
  15. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

    gotta laugh or you'll cry.
  16. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

He obviously read the snap count.
  17. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

Another genuine question. Is it impossible (or not worth the effort) to switch up blocking schemes? I mean, I'm not a coach...but if you are gonna dive in the redzone, would it be unrealistic to have...

Refusal to pitch, that is entirely on Shai.
  20. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

My genuine question...is the IZ a necessary component to an offense?
  21. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

Do we have plays that go to the outside?
  22. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

    We've resorted to armpunting. ugh
  23. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

No one wants to admit this, because he has heart...but we need better decision making at the helm.
  24. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

The personnel doesn't exist to run this offense.
  25. Re: Georgia Southern vs. Liberty University Cure Bowl 2019 Game Thread

Ok, admittedly...I'm working on emotion right now but I think Debesse's time here should be done...the sooner after this game, the better.
