STATESBORO, Ga. - Both Georgia Southern quarterbacks rushed for touchdowns as the White Team took the 21-20 victory over the Blue Team on Friday night (April 15th) at Paulson Stadium. The White team's Jaybo Shaw (Flowery Branch, Ga.) scored a one-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and threw for another in the second. His counterpart, Jerick McKinnon (Marietta, Ga.) matched Shaw with a three-yard run and a one-yard toss for two scores.

Eagle Head Coach Jeff Monken celebrated his birthday on Friday night as the Eagles closed the 2011 spring season. The Blue and White teams rushed for nearly identical totals of 144 and 143 yards, respectively. Darreion Robinson (Bishop, Ga.) led the White team on the ground with 94 yards and a 13-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. He also sparked the longest run of the day for 29 yards. Shaw was 5-for-8 through the air and for a total of 138 yards.

The Blue Team was anchored by Terrell Jackson's (Tallahassee, Fla.) 72 yards rushing. McKinnon threw for 119 yards including a 73-yard completion. He hooked up with Kentrellis Showers (Dublin, Ga.) twice for 118 yards including a 73-yard bomb.
Shaw's one-yard touchdown put the White team up with 9:16 left in the first quarter for the White Team. Blue tied the game three minutes later on Nico Hickey's (Columbus, Ga.) five-yard scamper. Robinson put the White team back up 14-7 in the waning minutes of the first quarter with a 13-yard run. Shaw connected with Tyler Sumner (Pooler, Ga.) to extend the lead to 21-7 in the second quarter.

With three seconds left before intermission, McKinnon cut the White team's lead to 21-14 with his three-yard run. Following a scoreless third quarter, McKinnon brought the Blue team to within one point on his touchdown pass to Hickey. A two-point conversion attempt failed, falling one yard shy of the end zone. The White team used up the clock to preserve the 21-20 victory.
